    1950’s Sci-Fi Clasic
This movie arrived just as it was described. The service was great, I would definaetly use this vendor again without hesitation.

    Beginning of the End
This movie is a must for any 1950’s science fiction fan. Interesting that the female lead starts out as a strong character but when Peter Graves enters the scene she takes a back seat. Disappointing ending as far as the “special” effects.

    Incredibly dissapointed!
I love old scifi schlock but yes I’m going to ruin this for you, just so you don’t plunk down the money! They used ‘real’ grasshoppers. Just composited them on. It has feel of “Them” but not the cool giant puppets, just lame composites of real grasshoppers. Nothing monstrous at all. Sigh.

I GREW UP ON THESE MOVIES! MST 3K TAKES ON AN OLD FAVORITE!
Well it’s a good thing I have a sense of humor, because this film holds fond memories for me. I know it is a ridiculous movie, but I like it! What can I say? The special effects are beyond horrible. The scene when the giant grasshoppers are climbing the building near the end of the picture is a photograph with real grasshoppers crawling on it!..hysterically funny stuff. When you add the gang of MST3K in, you know your in for some fun!

I never liked grasshoppers, but I love this movie
This is classic black and white sci-fi. Very entertaining. And to think Peter Graves has gone on to doing such meaningful commercials with lines such as putting on tangerine lip gloss, answering the door and feeling like one lucky woman! Must see!

    The charging unit is junk
I purchase this unit for my Celestron Telescope. I have gone through two of these units. The charging adapter on the first one killed the charging circuit. Celestron replaced the whole unit, no questions asked. The only bad thing is I had to pay for shipping. I got the second one, plugged in the charging unit and charged it up. Used it and went to charge it again and the charging adapter had died. Called Celestron and said to return the whole unit. I explained that it was just the adapter because I could use a laptop adapter and charge the tank. But I had to monitor it carefully. Got the new adapter, it was bad. I now use a trickle adapter that I purchased from Walmart. Connected the flimsy power cord to it and that works. I also purchase a Black and Decker power tank from Walmart. It does not last as long, but it is my reliable back up when I am having problems with the Power Tank.

Great Celestron Power Tank 17V Rechargeable Power Supply.
This is a powerfull unit that supplies my telescope with enough energy to last all night.

Good power source for a goto telescope
I bought this 17AH battery to power my Celestron CPC1100 telescope. It works well powering the telescope. However, I would recommend an additional power source if you have a dew heater. The dew heater drains the battery in a few hours. When the battery gets low, the telescope movements became eratic (wouldn’t stop on the desired object).

I would rate the battery higher if the charging cord were better. My charging cord died with one or two recharges. I ended up buying a smart battery charger (battery minder plus) which I plug in through one of the front cigarette lighter ports (not through the charging port). I briefly used a radioshack charging cord. However, I didn’t have much confidence that it charged the battery to the right voltage without over-charging and damaging the battery.

I haven’t really used the radio but the headlight is extremely bright and useful when tearing down your telescope for the night. It is a relatively convenient size for carrying and doesn’t seem overly heavy to me.

    In Love With Love Story
I love, love, love this movie. This movie had my attention from beginning to end. It is a true love story and an example of a happy, healthy relationship between a man and a woman. I am not a professional movie critic, however, I know great cinematography when I see it, and “Love Story” is definitely great cinematography.

    Simple and Beautiful
The movies I grew up watching as a kid in the 70’s all made deep impressions on me and I think it was mainly because they were all so beautifully scored. Born Free, and Brian’s Song, to name a few, can make me tear up when I hear them just as they did when I was 8 years old. Once you see it and hear it you never forget it. When I hear the Love Story theme I immediately think of Ryan O’Neil sitting in the bleachers at the end of the movie. This may not be a five star movie but the last 15 minutes are as touching and thought provoking as you’ll ever see. It puts life in perspective and shows what’s really important.

    What Does Constitute an Apology?
    This film is sad.

    This film is arrogant.

    This film is simple.

    This film is edited poorly.

This film means never having to say you’re sorry.

These are just a few random thoughts conjured up while recently watching the 1970s blockbuster hit, “Love Story”. It is the summer of blockbusters, and while $10 or more is a bit like paying for gas at the local Cineplex, this critic decided to watch old blockbusters in the comfort of his cool, quiet, and subdued home. Having read the book many years ago, I was eager to see how exactly it would translate onto the bigger screen. There was little action, little conflict, and even a smaller plot - it was, simply put, a “love story”. Two Ivy-leaguers meet, they argue with their parents, they marry, and suddenly tragedy strikes. It is simple, like love - and it does translate well onto the screen with our two leads being Ryan O’Neal and Ali MacGraw. Together their chemistry is shattering, bring to life a small piece of Americana, and the depth of life. As Jennifer and Oliver pour their literal hearts out on screen, the issues of “Love Story”, while not many, do break free and run rampant throughout. The lacking development, the clutter of language, the electric music, and the cheapened edits all culminate as utter distracts to this film. These errors pull from the story, creating a mediocre tale that could have been the greatest love story ever sold.

Let me begin by saying that as much criticism as I give “Love Story”, it still (and probably will with another viewing) brought a tear to my eye. It is ultimately a story about the power of love, and even if you can see through the clich
